The South Park Game We Deserved: Stick of Truth Review

May have slight spoilers - So any fan of South Park knows the much loved TV Series has suffered when it comes to Video Games. In fact the only game I can think of that I even remotely enjoyed was its Tower Defence XBLA game. Stick of Truth had a lot to live up to, and without beating around the bush too much I can honestly say that Stick of Truth is undoubtedly the game we have been waiting for since South Park first hit our screens. DKC FTW Thumb

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. Marry me.

So, let’s get this out of the way first: I live in Japan, so I have had DK a little over a week earlier than most people I know…so…I think we can all safely assume that I can be Charlie, and you can all be my Angels…except Stubby. Stubby can be Bosley. I have been a DK fan as long as I can remember being a gamer. When I was a wee little lad and all the kids were running off with a hairy Italian man I was like 'No way, not for me, I want me some MONKEY ACTION BABY!' My original favourite Read more [...]

A Link to Awesome! Zelda: A Link Between Worlds Review

For me personally A Link Between Worlds had a lot to live up to. It is essentially a sequel to A Link to the Past (despite being a couple of hundreds year further into the timeline) and promised to bring players back into the world of that early SNES game. For me A Link to the Past is very important in my Zelda fandom, as it is the very first Zelda game I ever played sparking my love for the series that has lasted for well over 10 years now, and still holds the coveted Number 2 position on my Read more [...]

Review: Capsule

The numbers on the counter slowly tick down, marking my distance from salvation. With each breath the oxygen levels dip, my laboured breathing beginning to drown out even the groans of the capsules protesting engine. The sound of my own breathing seems deafening ,growing more laboured with each gasp. Hunched over the sterile blue display I watch the distance to my destination tick down. The number is falling fast, but the oxygen levels are falling faster still. I increase power to Read more [...]

GOTTA CATCH ‘EM ALL – Pokémon X & Y Review

Another Year, Another Pokémon game. We all know the story. New trainer, new rival, new monsters to catch and train, new gyms to battle, new badges to earn and a new region to explore and conquer. It's a formula that sells and that is far from broken. But while this Pokémon game follows the same formula, it differs in a few key aspects that not only make this experience better but set a new benchmark for all future games to follow. STORY 8/10 As with most Pokémon games, there isn't Read more [...]

Pikmin 3

Pikmin 3

Nintendo are a funny lot. They like to neglect a lot of their properties whilst flogging poor Mario like an Atlanta stripper. For every Star Fox or Donkey Kong you'll usually get a hundred or so Mario games and, whilst Mario games are generally quite good, it's forgivable for even a hardcore fan to say they're getting sick of them. New Luigi U

Ok, so let's face it, Mario games are a dime a dozen and the market has been FLOODED with the red capped, moustachioed tradesman recently and, for the most part, they are pretty good but there is such a thing as "too much of a good thing," especially when there are sooooo many Nintendo properties that do not get the exposure they deserve *cough* Metroid *cough*. So when Nintendo proclaimed "2013 is the year of Luigi," I have to admit, I kind of cringed. Luigi games. Luigi games? Really? It turns out Read more [...]

Halo 4

Halo 4: Can 343 reclaim the franchise?

I’ll be honest, when I heard about Halo 4, I was not impressed at all. Another not Bungie Halo game? Yeah, right, Halo Wars, console only RTS? What a craptastic idea that was. But then, the past few weeks, I started to see more about the game. I watched whatever I could, watched the Forward unto Dawn series, read some early reviews, and I was hooked and decided I was going to buy the game. Read more [...]
