Pokémon X and Y Teasing a Ruby and Sapphire Remake?
The latest instalments in Nintendo’s Pokémon franchise have sent sales for the company through the roof and normally this would lead to talks about whether or not a sequel would or wouldn’t happen. But in the Pokémon fan community, this usually leads to another exciting prospect. A previous generation remake!
Pokémon Red and Blue versions had been remade to FireRed and LeafGreen for the Gameboy Advance. Soon after Pokémon Gold and Silver got the remake treatment with HeartGold and SoulSilver for the Nintendo DS, and now obsessive and clued in Pokéfans who are currently playing through X and Y version are noticing some, quite titillating, little hints scattered throughout that seem to point toward a Ruby and Sapphire remake already being in the works over at Nintendo.
When we look at the obvious release pattern of FireRed and LeafGreen followed by HeartGold and SoulSilver, a Generation 3 remake following Pokémon X and Y certainly seems like the logical next step, right? And hints have been popping up all over the Kalos region! One player (who you can check out on Twitter with the handle @OperationHoenn) has catalogued a ton of clues. Some of these hints range from subtle mentions of other regions far away, to actually mentioning Hoenn by name and then to this:
But what does it all mean?
So what do you think? Would you like to see a remake of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire? Or possibly an extension containing both the Kalos and Hoenn regions?
