‘Attack the Block’ Director for Star Trek 3?

J.J. Abrams is a busy, busy boy. Since it’s been confirmed that due to his time being focused on the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII he will not be returning to direct the third installment in the revitalised Star Trek a lot of questions have surrounded the question of who might Paramount put at the wheel.

I’m no “Trekki” but Abrams first two films Star Trek and Star Trek: Into Darkness hooked me in as somewhat of a fan, and now Deadline is reporting that Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions are trying to lure Attack the Block director Joe Cornish to helm the next installment in the rebooted franchise, which will hopefully go into production in early 2014.

Joe Cornish’s other credits include being co-writer on Steven Spielberg’s 2011 animated adventure film The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn.
