Tim Burton Confirmed to Be in Talks for Beetlejuice 2?

So it’s been reported for a few days now that this was rumoured but it looks like Beetlejuice is coming back from the dead after all with Tim Burton himself said to be coming back to direct, and coming from the self-proclaimed world’s biggest Burton fan, it kind of brings to mind that immortal quote from Clerks director Kevin Smith when the sequel was originally announced in 1990 as Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian, “didn't we say all we needed to say with the first Beetlejuice? Must we go tropical?” I’m Read more [...]

When Will Marvel Announce Their Phase 3 Film Slate?

Earlier this year Marvel Studios revealed the date for Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man as July 31, 2015 but their plans beyond Ant-Man are somewhat vague. Besides the obvious sequels in the Captain America and Thor solo franchises there are still no definitive plans for a Black Widow solo film or a continuation for Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, a real shame as I think they’re both some of the most interesting characters on the Avengers roster by far. There is however plans to get characters such as Doctor Read more [...]

MARVEL is Figuring Out What to Do With Daredevil

Marvel Studios has unquestionably become a Hollywood force to be reckoned with having achieved what no one ever thought they could, assembling the Avengers for the big screen! Last year though, Marvel re-acquired characters that it had sold off to other studios over a decade ago which had been misused to make terrible abortions disguised as films, and one of those characters is fan-boy favourite Daredevil. And with Marvel’s successful streak of movies, and Daredevil’s recent surge in popularity Read more [...]

Picking up in Japan, why you suck at it.

You suck, simple as that. Now that I’ve shattered your self-confidence let me justify it. Chances are if you’re reading this blog, you’re a young male who has booked or is thinking of booking a flight to Japan in the near future. Chances are one of the reasons you are reading this is because redtube just isn’t doing it for you anymore, so you’re deciding to live the hentai dream. Your probably thinking because you’re a foreigner it’s going to be easy. Well I’m telling you right Read more [...]

Wild Blue Yonder Volumes #1 and #2: Review

Well I’m late to the party, but what a party it is! Who doesn't just love an epic sci-fi steam punk adventure set in a 1940’s style dystopian future? I know I do! With the recent news of uber talented comic book writer Mike Raicht’s The Stuff of Legend being optioned for a movie deal by Walt Disney Pictures, I thought I'd take the opportunity to pick up Raicht’s latest series Wild Blue Yonder. And I’m glad I did. Being that I'm someone who usually picks up unusual indie titles, Read more [...]

Stuff of Legend. Stop. Thumber Time.

‘The Stuff of Legend’ moving forward at Disney?

While the genres of horror and children’s entertainment aren't exactly best buds, when done the right way as we've seen with directors Tim Burton and Henry Selick or author Neil Gaiman, they go together like bacon and eggs. Being the biggest genre fan on Earth (big call, I know!) you can imagine my pants tightening delight when I read that Walt Disney Pictures has just made a deal to produce a big screen animated adaptation of the 2009 graphic novel series The Stuff of Legend from Th3rd Read more [...]

Fan-boy moment: Real World Iron Man Suit Being Developed By U.S. Military?

In news that's sure to have fan boys the world over frothing at the mouth or (for anyone who knows how bat-shit crazy the United States is) trembling in fear, the U.S. military has announced development of what they are calling a Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit to provide the operator with superhuman abilities much the same as Tony Stark's Iron Man suit. The suit would give the wearer extremely enhanced strength, night vision capability and shielding from enemy gunfire and other such Read more [...]

Review: Gravity

Thank you Alfonso Cuarón for confirming my decision to never become an astronaut. Gravity, directed by Academy Award nominee Cuarón, stars Oscar winners Bullock and Clooney in, without question, the most anxiety raising and emotionally exhausting film of not only 2013, but the past decade and hurls us like rag dolls into the most terrifying and hopeless place there is, space. Sandra Bullock, taking a break from playing an FBI agent for once in her career, plays Dr. Ryan Stone, an engineer Read more [...]

Kit Harington Screen Tests for Reed Richards in the Fantastic Four Reboot

So although this isn't something I would normally write about, being the Marvel fan boy and Game of Thrones fan that I am I feel this is something that needs to be discussed. Following 20th Century Fox’s announcement that their planned 2015 reboot of their other big Marvel property Fantastic Four is heading into the casting phase, Variety is reporting that the studio is currently screen testing actors, one of those actors being Game of Thrones star Kit Harington for the role of Reed Richards Read more [...]
