Daredevil and Other Marvel Heroes Headed to Netflix

We super geeks love nothing more than super news about our favourite super heroes, right? That’s why when the announcement came this morning that Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios would partner up with US content streaming provider Netflix to produce not one, but four TV series, I may have been so excited that I inadvertently impregnated my jeans. (Side note, I do hope the resulting child isn't just a pair of legs with denim for skin, I’m not prepared for such a big life challenge.) These Read more [...]

‘Attack the Block’ Director for Star Trek 3?

J.J. Abrams is a busy, busy boy. Since it’s been confirmed that due to his time being focused on the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII he will not be returning to direct the third installment in the revitalised Star Trek a lot of questions have surrounded the question of who might Paramount put at the wheel. I’m no “Trekki” but Abrams first two films Star Trek and Star Trek: Into Darkness hooked me in as somewhat of a fan, and now Deadline is reporting that Paramount Pictures and Skydance Read more [...]

Pokémon X and Y Teasing a Ruby and Sapphire Remake?

The latest instalments in Nintendo’s Pokémon franchise have sent sales for the company through the roof and normally this would lead to talks about whether or not a sequel would or wouldn't happen. But in the Pokémon fan community, this usually leads to another exciting prospect. A previous generation remake! Pokémon Red and Blue versions had been remade to FireRed and LeafGreen for the Gameboy Advance. Soon after Pokémon Gold and Silver got the remake treatment with HeartGold Read more [...]

So it’d been rumoured since late July that Aaron Taylor-Johnson was cast as Quicksilver in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and he hasn’t exactly been quiet about it. But until now it hadn’t been official, finally though, The Wrap is reporting that Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson is officially set to play Pietro "Quicksilver" Maximoff in Joss Whedon's 2015 sequel Avengers: Age of Ultron. Oddly enough, Taylor-Johnson won’t be the only one playing the speedster on the big screen. His Kick-Ass Read more [...]

Trick ‘r Treat 2 to Go into Production

I love me some Halloween and it doesn’t get Halloweenier than 2009’s cult horror anthology Trick ‘r Treat. Although the project is yet to be officially given the green light, it’s said to be in the very early stages, Trick 'r Treat writer and director Michael Dougherty announced at a special fan screening on Monday that a sequel to his Halloween anthology is on the way. "It’s funny because when I first dreamt up the idea of making the first film, I thought, “How neat would it be Read more [...]

Tim Burton Confirmed to Be in Talks for Beetlejuice 2?

So it’s been reported for a few days now that this was rumoured but it looks like Beetlejuice is coming back from the dead after all with Tim Burton himself said to be coming back to direct, and coming from the self-proclaimed world’s biggest Burton fan, it kind of brings to mind that immortal quote from Clerks director Kevin Smith when the sequel was originally announced in 1990 as Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiian, “didn't we say all we needed to say with the first Beetlejuice? Must we go tropical?” I’m Read more [...]

When Will Marvel Announce Their Phase 3 Film Slate?

Earlier this year Marvel Studios revealed the date for Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man as July 31, 2015 but their plans beyond Ant-Man are somewhat vague. Besides the obvious sequels in the Captain America and Thor solo franchises there are still no definitive plans for a Black Widow solo film or a continuation for Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, a real shame as I think they’re both some of the most interesting characters on the Avengers roster by far. There is however plans to get characters such as Doctor Read more [...]
